Examination
EXAMINATION
The objective of the end semester examination is to test the knowledge assimilated by the students during the semester
First year examinations for all subjects are conducted and evaluated by the Institute.
Second Year, University of Mumbai conducts examinations for a certain number of subjects mentioned in the syllabus published by the university. The University of Mumbai itself also carries out the assessments for these subjects.
For the remaining subjects covered in the syllabus, the Institute conducts and evaluates the paper and sends the students’ marks to the University.
All the subjects for all the specialization streams are rewarded a maximum of 100 marks.
Note: The distribution is usually at the discretion of the concerned faculty.
Examination Schedule
First Semester Exam is conducted in the month of December and Third Semester Exam in the month of November at the Institute level.
Second Semester Exam and Fourth Semester Institute Level Exams are conducted in the month of April.
University Examinations for third and fourth semesters are conducted in the month of May and December respectively as per University Schedule.
Assessment
During the first year, i.e., for 1st and 2nd Semester, candidates who have not been able to clear any subjects at first attempts are permitted to a maximum of two additional attempts.
For the second year i.e., semester 3rd and 4th for all the subjects for which the institute level examination is conducted by the institute, no additional attempts are permitted.
Grace Marks
A maximum of 1% of the aggregate total marks, in one or more subjects is allowed, provided the aggregate is average 50%.
